EchoHunt – Update Notes
Latest update (Week of October 12, 2026)
- EchoHunt now also records from OpenWebRX receivers, in addition to KiwiSDR: more receivers and wider coverage across all bands.
- New “By country” option: pick a country from the dropdown and the run uses only that country’s SDRs that cover your frequency (up to 40 per run, spread across the territory). It has its own list, independent of Quick Hunt and Deep Hunt.
- The tool and the map now use the page’s language (ES/EN) instead of the browser’s language.
- Longer playlist (room for two more SDRs) and the map now matches the panel height once the captures finish.
- The list of OpenWebRX receivers is refreshed daily, and SDRs that time out are logged so the lists can be tuned later.
Update (Week of August 17, 2026)
- Quick and deep hunt lists now adjust to the chosen frequency, prioritizing the SDRs that actually cover that band.
- Automatic daily refresh of the SDR list and cleanup of old recordings.
- Tool redesign: it makes better use of the screen width and improves the map display on mobile.
- Cleaner interface next to the map, with no ads.

- Implementation of the reporting system, which generates a report and allows it to be shared

- Fixed the bug that caused audios to cross when an SDR failed.
- More flexible SDR lists, now better distributed worldwide.
- SDR lists now update periodically with a script that saves time.
- Visual tweaks in map popups for a better experience.
- Fixed text encoding issues to avoid display errors.
